Abstract

The drill consists of a frame connected to a tool bar and bearing in its central part a share which forms a channel for the seed (6) distributed from a feed mechanism. At the rear of the frame is a roller (11) designed to press the seeds into the bottom of the channel where they are covered by a rake. The roller comprises a smooth, narrow central surface (16). On either side of this central part are two cylindrical surfaces concentric with, but broader than, the central part (16). The relative diameters of the central and outer parts are such that when the outer parts are on the surface of the soil, the central part is pressing the seeds into the correct depth.
