Abstract

The vault comprises a number of oblong compartments parallel to each other, each accommodating a coffin. The compartments are in the form of round tubes, supported at the ends by frames with a polygonal external surface, placed one on top of the other. The frames can be hexagonal, and the tubes can be closed at one end by an impervious wall and at the other by a porous wall. The frames can be screwed onto the tubes and held in place by gluing, and the tubes can be lengths of standard drainpipe. Alternatively the tubes can fit in annular grooves in the frames, these being held against them by lengthwise tie bolts between the frames.
