Abstract

The required number of wooden compartments (1) are arranged together. These are covered on all sides by a second layer of material (2, 3, 4) projecting outwards to form a rear flange. Inside each compartment is a horizontal bearer strip (5) with its outer edge (6) shaped to form one element of a hinge. In line with this is a cut-out (10) in the second layer giving clearance for the door flaps (7, 8) with locks (9), to be slid on. A decorative surround (11) holds the flaps in place and strengthens the assembly. Where compartments are adjacent, one door hinge end (16) fits inside a collar on the adjoining flap.
