Abstract
Plant growth rate is increase by providing an elongate plant bed which is rotated about its longitudinal axis whilst disposed in the horizontal plane and supplying the rotating plant bed periodically with nutrient liqs. Introduction of centrifugal forces which counteract the gravitational forces promotes the increased rate of growth by affecting the cell structure formation. Pref. the longitudinal axis of the bed whilst the latter is rotated is inclined cyclically w.r.t. the horizontal plane by an amt., varying from 0.01-0.25 when the bed is subjected to the incidence of a relatively weak light to reduce the rate of respiration of the plants.
