Thiophene derivs. of formula (I) (R = 3-6C alkyl, X = H, Na, K, NH4, di(m)ethylaminoethanol or some other pharmacologically acceptable org. base). Esp. R = n- or isopropyl, n- or iso-butyl, n-pentyl or n-hexyl, are broad-spectrum antimycotics and trichomonacides useful e.g. in treating Candida vaginitis and trichomonasis associated with bacterial infection.
