Abstract

A photosensitive emulsion is claimed comprising a mixt. of 3 types of grains of a photoreducing oxide homogeneously dispersed in a heat softenable binder, the grains of each type having adsorbed on their surface a chromatic sensitiser for one of the primary colours, red, green and blue, and a suitable complexing agent. The binder contains a fatty acid metal salt and reactants which are common to the 3 colours and which can react with the complexing agent adsorbed on the grains to form a complex having a colour corresponding to that to which the particular type of grain is sensitive. Also claimed is a photographic process in which the emulsion is used, development being effected by heating the exposed emulsion layer to soften the binder and the metal salt. A colour image is obtd. by a single exposure through a colour negative and developing by heating thus, obviating the drawbacks of wet processing and multiple exposures.
