Abstract

Balance mechanism for telphor line comprises wheels the sides of which lie adjacent to parallel metal bearing plates of which the inwardly facing surfaces are covered with a film-forming layer of PTFE which reduces adhesion of ice and frost. Adhesion of the PTFE layer to the metal is far greater than adhesion of frost to the PTFE layer. The sides of the wheels and all parts of the wheels subject to relative movement are also coated with PTFE.
