Abstract

The handle is designed to permit the interchangeability of one handle between several diverse heads (2), utilizing the radially expanding cone principle to wedge the handle in the head. The handle terminates in a truncated conical length (4a) and fits into a similar shaped aperture (3) in the tool head. Radial slots (6) in the handle end permit reduction of the end for insertion in the head and tightening of an axially tapered screw (7) effects cone expansion. The handle end has an elliptical cross section or an alternative may have a circular section with a cylindrical bore which receives a bolt replacing the screw, the tapering bolt head expanding the end of the handle.
