Abstract
The truncated-cone light concentration comprises a truncated cone (C) made from a material which is transparent at the wavelength of the light used. This concentrates the light coming from a source (5) placed near the major base of the truncated cone. At least one of the surfaces comprising the extremities of the truncated cone is a surface of revolution. The large end of the cone may be in the form of a concave spherical cap (4) and the small end may be either plane (6) or concave or convex. The sides of the cone may be of circular section or it may be a square section pyramid.
