Abstract

The body of the lamp (2) and the lampholder (3) are separate components, one of them having distorting elastic portions (13) which can be moved towards each other and also ribs (14). The latter engage in one pair of several grooves (12) in the body (2), assembly being effected by distortion of one of the components. The design allows the use of bulbs of different lengths. The ribs are produced during moulding of the lampholder or after hardening of the plastics material. The body (2) has openings (22) which allow heat to escape from the bulb. A nut (7) allows the body to be fitted to a mounting panel.
