Abstract
A wall panel comprises a core of plastic foam contg. spheres of a mineral material. The surface of the core is abraded so that some of the spheres become visible at the surface and are flattened, and a coating material is then applied. The plastic foam is an excellent heat and sound insulator, and the spheres assist in ensuring that the coating material (which is pref. fireproof) adheres to the surface of the foam. The foam is pref. polyurethane: the spheres may be clay, schist or glass; and the covering material may be plaster.
