Abstract

Plant growth regulators, partic. for cereals, contain as active ingredient a combination of (2-chloroethyl)-trimethylammonium chloride (CCC) with other agents, namely with alkali or ammonium salts of 2,3-dichloroisobutyric acid for wheat, barley or rye, with metopiron for wheat or barley, or with N,N-diethyl-nicotinamide for barley or rye. The growth regulators increase lodging resistance of cereal crops by thickening, shortening and strengthening the stem without diminishing grain yield. The combination of CCC with other agents reduced the amt of CCC required and thus minimises toxicological problems.
