Abstract

The frame, which may be of metal or other suitable material, has two upright members (f) joined by horizontal members (g1 g2 g3 and g4). The decorative sheets or strips are folded to the required shape for a lamp shade, with holes (Ce and C1) provided along the upper edge of the side surfaces (b). Wire rods (d) with hooked ends (e) which fit into the holes (C) hold the shade in the required shape. A second set of wire rods (h) are threaded alternately under and over the rods (d) and the frame cross members (g1, g2, g3, g4) so that the shade is securely attached to the frame. A socket for an electric light bulb can be fixed to the centre of the frame.
