Abstract

The wheel has a pedal lever and two or three separate sprockets (2, 3) to give different drive ratios. To block the space between the lever and the nearest sprocket, situated on the periphery of the latter is a cylindrical bar (5) protruding from the sprocket towards the lever (1) nearly touching the lever. The invention prevents the chain (4) jamming between sprocket and lever if it should come off the former. The invention is typically for use on racing bicycles where loss of time during a race is critical.
