Abstract

Knitted hose passing from a circular knitting machine is fed over a widening device comprising a pair of radially movable arms having pref. at their outer ends guide formations which engage the inside of the hose. Each arm has a toothed formation which engages a common gear wheel whereby rotation of the gear wheel moves the arms radially. The device is cheap and can be easily adjusted to stretch the hose to a wide range of different widths.
