Hydraulic drive system with a motor driving a variable displacement pump and with an automatic hydraulic control device to adjust the pump displacement as a function of the motor speed. There is a hand-operated control device for over travel control of the automatic control device in the sense of a reduction of the pump displacement. The automatic control device and the manually operated control device excite a servo control device to vary the pump displacement.
