Abstract

The moving base (5) consists of two lengthwise chains (6) joined by scraper cross-bars (7) moving backwards, and driven by bosses (8). A drive-shaft (9) has a chain wheel (10) situated next to the sidewall (11) of the trailer, and carrying a cam plate (13) and a ratchet wheel (12). Cog-wheel bearings (14) fit on the end of the drive-shaft (9). Two ratchets (18, 19) engage the ratchet-wheel (12). Opposite the ratchets (18, 19) is a retaining catch (21) mounted on sidewall (11). The other end of the cog-wheel bearings (14) has an axle (24) joining them to the end (25) of a link (26) connected to an eccentric wheel (29) mounted on a shaft (30). The eccentric wheel (29) has a cogged ring which engages with the cogs (32) of a drive pinion (33) rotating with the drive shaft (34).
