Abstract

The collar joins together posts of composite construction, one on top of the other. When assembled, the posts are separated by a steel plate (4) which projects slightly outside the boundary of the steel sheaths (1) surrounding the concrete (2) of the posts. The jointing pieces (14) have vertical faces (5) provided, at mid-height, with horizontal slots (22) which locate on the projecting portions of plate (4) when assembled to the post. At the corners, the faces (5) are bent through 45 deg. to form mitres and these are drilled with oval holes by which they are connected to similar plates supporting flooring slabs.
