Abstract

The frame is made from an extruded section with base (1) and two parallel sides (2, 3). The base has slots (4, 5) to reduce the weight and grooves (6) to permit insertion of a wear resistant layer (7). The sides each have three slots (10) in which are mounted two sliding cross pieces (11) with locking screws (12) which clamp the metal bars to be cut. The base has two longitudinal circular section slots (13) in which a double elbowed shaft (8) can be moved to provide an end stop (15). This shaft is locked by screws (16) in the base. Pairs of slots (17, 23, 25) are cut in the sides at suitable angles, and wear resistant inserts (18, 22, 24) are fitted to protect the device and to make the slot widths suitable for saw blades.
