Abstract

The use of rifamycins in veterinary therapeutics esp. the curative treatment of bovine mastitis is new. The riffamycin (I) is pref. rifamycin SV and may be used together with antibiotics (II) active against gram negative bacteria such as chloramphenicol and neomycin in a ratio (II):(I) of 0.1-0.5. Also penicillins such as cloxacillin may be used in an amt.
