Abstract
Objects for sintering are drawn through a furnace using a conveyor which ensures that the objects are rotated during the sintering operation. The conveyor consists of a pair of chains to which circular sections are attached. Tubular sections stretch the full width of the furnace and are slotted through the chan section. These tubes rest on rails, the height of which can be adjusted by hydraulic cylinders. As the chains move the sections, the tubes are moved forward and rotate on the rails. The objects for sintering are placed inside these tubes and are rotated themselves. Method is useful for sintering circular or tubular objects. The rotational movement ensures uniform heating and avoids the possibility of oval or deformed products being made.
