Abstract

A fixing element for securing an end of a flexible pipe to e.g. a sink comprises two curved channels arranged in a U-formation and connected by a thin wall forming a hinge at the base of the U-formation and merging into tubular pipe portions at the ends of the branches of the U-formation. The pipe is threaded through the pipe portions and seats in the channels and the U-formation is located over the edge of the sink. A spring clip is provided to prevent the channels from pivoting away from one another at the hinge. The device is used particularly for holding in position the waste pipe of a washing machine. The end of the pipe is held firmly in the sink and prevented from becoming dislodged.
