Abstract

The junction piece has a hollow cubical hub (2) and three mutually perpendicular arms (3) which have longitudinal slots (6) and circular section bores (4) forming four flexible corners. The arms are telescoped within square section tube ends (7) after the circular tapering nuts (12) have been placed onto the central bores and onto respective bolts. The bolts are passed through the hub and along the bores of the arms until the heads (10) bear against internal shoulders in the hub. Rotation of the bolts by allen keys causes the nuts to move towards the hub along the bores, thus expanding the arms which tightly engage the inner surfaces of the tube ends and lock the assembly together.
