Abstract

The wrapping is for long loaves of bread, normally sold unwrapped. The wrapper (1) carrying advertising etc. (2) is wrapped round the centre of the loaf (3). Variations are where the wrapper is preformed into a sleeve to fit over the loaf, or where it is used as part of a long thin bag to hold the bread. The sleeve is used to prevent a persons hand from coming into contact with the bread, the ends of the bread always being visible.
