Abstract
material after the oxidation roasting stage and contg. impurities, is treated with HCl to form an aq. soln. which is then treated by solvent extraction with a solvent which forms an organic phase contg. one of the metals and the majority of impurities, and a first aq. phase contg. the other metal and the remaining impurities. The organic phase is brought into contact with water to form a second aq. phase. The two aq. phases are then treated separately for removing the impurities, and to give pure solns. of the two metals.
