Abstract

A transducer which gives a direct electrico indication of linear movements comprises a prism shaped magnetic core which moves between two coils. These coils are fed with AC and are connected into a form of Wheatstone Bridge to give movements of the core as a linear voltage signal for remote indication of relative movements e.g. in a nuclear, radioactive environment. Several inches of movement can be remotely indicated as a direct linear signal of voltage.
