Abstract

To enable the tractor to be driven with equal ease in either direction, the driver seat is able to turn 180 deg. to face an auxiliary steering wheel and foot pedal controls fitted to a bracket mounted between the two rear mudguards. The brackets consists of a tube with a telescopic end to compensate for various vehicles widths. The tube supports the auxiliary steering wheel and connects it by means of one angle drive to a second angle drive which turns a shaft with a universal joint coupled to a telescopic shaft which turns the tractors original steering wheel by means of a quick release coupling. The steering gear is reversed so that the driver does not have to steer opposite to normal when operating in the auxiliary position. The auxiliary pedals may be coupled to the original pedals by pull wires, mechanical rods or hydraulically.
