Abstract

The use of common parts allows a design to be taken down and the pieces reused on a different layout. Square columns (1, 2) have holes (11, 13) in their sides, spaced at regular intervals. The shelves (3, 4) usually glass, are held cantilever fashion by pins which have large rubber contact heads (5, 6, 7, 8, 17, 19, 20) and rigid steel bodies (9, 10, 12, 18, 21) fitting in the holes. One pin (6, 8) each side has a straight body and fits above the shelf. The other pin (5, 7) each side is cranked and bears under the glass and against a face of the column. Loading increases the holding power of the system. Two heads may be assembled on a single body and some heads mya have hooks (22) passing under the shelf edges.
