Abstract
The light is for fitting to vehicles equipped with batteries, and its rechargeable batteries are automatically recharged from the latter immediately the housing is placed in the socket designed to receive it. The socket can be mounted in the vehicle dashboard, and the light can be arranged to switch on automatically immediately on removal, and off immediately on replacement in the socket. The light housing is metal and conducts curent between the lower contact of the pair of nicke cadmium batteries and a spring bulb contact, the current from the upper battery contact passing through a spring and wire to the bulb mounting disc. When inserted in the socket the batteries are raised by a contact pin passing through the housing and connected to the vehicle battery, the lower contact then no longer contacting the housing.
