Abstract

Thin non-planar glass objects are mass produced from strip which travels continuously vertically through heating stations, a press with complementary die halves which press reciprocates vertically so as to participate with the travel of the strip during its working cycle, quenching equipment and finally cutting off equipment. Photo chromatic spectacle glasses can be prod. by this prcess. The use of vertical movement of glass strip during processing reduces problems of supporting the strip at the process temp. reqd. for this product.
