Abstract

Pancake-making machine is of the type comprising to superimposed rotating heating and cooking drums which are mounted with their axes horizontal on the metallic frame. The upper drum is driven by the motor by the belt. The lower drum is driven in the opposite direction from the shaft by a gear train. The refrigerated batter is stored in the reservoir and is sprayed by the spray gun on to the periphery of the drum to form a pre-determined, possibly circular, shape. The spray guns are of the electrostatic type while the periphery of the upper drum consists of an insulating wall with several closed contour zones made of metal; each zone is associated with one gun so as to receive the jet of batter emitted by this gun. The metal zone is connected to a reference potential which in this case is the metal frame of the machine. The cooked pancakes are evacuated by a scraper associated with the upper drum and the scraper associated with the lower drum; the pancakes, cooked on both sides, are removed by the belt conveyor. The machine is simple and rapid in action. The layer of raw batter deposited on the cooking drum can have any desired shape.
