Abstract

Welding is eliminated by using a thermoplastic pedal which is simply attached to the control element. A control pedal has a core (1) comprising a steel shaft which is shaped by bending (1a, 1b, 1c) to reinforce the pedal plate (2) in the area on which pressure is exerted by the user. The pedal plate is pressed onto the shaft and is retained by shaped housings (3, 4, 5) with deformable retaining lips. The plate has two lugs (8, 8a) through which a pin (9) passes to engage with housings attached to the bodywork to provide an axis about which the control shaft (1) can turn.
