Abstract

The spool hub (2) has diametrically opposite hooks (3), moulded to its exterior surface, for the rings in the ends of the inking ribbon. Three elastic rings (4) are moulded to the interior of the hub (2) and spaced 120 deg. apart. Each elastic ring (4) carries a tongue (5) which slips and grips due to the elasticity of the rings, the ribbon spool spindles of the machine. If required a ring of heavy material can be incorporated in the hub to increase the inertia of the spool. The hub is adaptable to a large range of shaft diameters and is reversible.
