Abstract

Drying timber and other fibrous prods. by heating under vacuum in a drying chamber in a liq. which does not mix with water and which boils at about 200 degrees C, then removing this fluid from the chamber while still maintaining the vacuum. Pref. a medium boiling at 150 - 250 degrees C, or at 200 - 250 degrees C is used. Pref. liquids are petroleum prods.
