Abstract

The mixer consists of a vessel with an agitator and deflecting blades so arranged that they cause the whole of the mass of material being mixed to undergo changes of motion in radial planes. Rotation of the mass as a whole and the formation of dead spaces, which may occur in conventional mixers with vortex motion, are prevented, the mixers may have very different capacities, speed of agitation can be regulated, continuous or not continuous, and different kinds of materials, liqs., solids or pastes, or mixts of these different phases, can be handled.
