Abstract

Interior sealing prevents entry of water into body of ski, even after considerable use and wear. The base (B) is a thermoplastic material, rebated (F) internally on its long sides to receive the corner wear strips (CM). These are square (10) with a thinner horizontal section (12) fitting in the rebate in the base and pierced with holes (13) at regular intervals. Some holes have an open slot to allow flexing. The sides (C) are assembled and a thick thermoplastic ribbon (R) is heated (T) and forced by pressure (P) to encapsulate (10) the metal strip and adhere to base and sides.
