Abstract
Ruminant feed supplement contains urea, amylaceous substances (I) in which >=3% of the starch has been hydrolysed into substances soluble in 80% ethanol, and opt. mineral salts, vitamins, antibiotics and flavourings. (I) is a readily assimilable source of carbon for the microorganisms in the vumen. This enables the nitrogen in the urea to be metabolised more efficiently, with less risk of uremia.
