Abstract

Profiling of a piece or length of extruded clay utilising irregularly profiled rolls pressed against the surface of the clay, e.g. in the mfr. of simulated hand-made bricks, by causing at least some of these rolls to reciprocate along the clay in the direction of extrusion while the contact with the clay surface. In particular, the speed and length of the displacement of the profiled rolls relative to the clay is varied continuously.
