Abstract

Calculating rule uses a key number correlated to the sum of products of each figure of the numbers by means of a multiplying figure depending upon the rank of the figure. The correlation is a congruence of modulus, for example 10 or 20. The rule has a moving part which may rotate or slide and whose total movement corresponds to 10. It is moved for each figure of the number to a position corresponding to the figure read on a scale corresponding to the multiplying figure for the scale figure and then to a reference position. The final movement of the moving part gives the key figure which is read on a separate scale.
