Abstract

Packaging using a thin plastic envelope whose two principal faces are welded together when closed. A specially shaped piece of carboard is inserted into the envelope opening to act as a hanger or to carry labels etc. The card is shaped so as to be held in place when the envelope is closed, without welding or fixing it directly to the plastic envelope. A variety of shapes can be used, including cards with side extendions above and below which the welding is done, or shaped which have holes through which the two sides of the envelope are passed together for welding.
