Abstract

A light source projects an image spot onto a monitoring screen in front of the eyes, the beam being subjected to two consecutive reflections by flat mirrors on shafts rotating on axes perpendicular to each other. These shafts are in planes intersecting the screen to form two coordinate axes. Very low inertia galvanometers have their moving portions keyed to the mirror shafts. An electronic circuit delivers signals controlling galvanometer deviation, causing the image spot to move on the screen in accordance with a set speed and amplitude variation law. Probes record signals corresponding to motor muscle movement of the patient's eyes, and the galvanometer control signals and those recorded by the probes are compared.
