Abstract

A gas fired central heating boiler has an inner vessel(13) acting as a supply tank for general purposes, an intermediate jacket (14) and an outer jacket (8), suspended inside the combustion chamber (5), the latter jacket (8) communicating with a further outer jacket (1) through upper (9) and lower (10) parts, the further jacket (1) supplying the central heating system through upper (2) and lower (3) connections. The intermediate jacket (14) is open topper, and filler with oil (14) as a heat transfer medium. Preferably this medium is a paraffin wax which solidifies at about 20 deg.C but is liquid at over 50 deg.C. This simplifies assembly and maintenance due to being solid at normal temperatures.
