Abstract

Coninuous, controlled heat shrinkage of a combed top of heat-shrinkable fibres, e.g. axially aligned staple fibre comprising two mutually co-operating mobile belts between which the top is passed, the lower belt acting as a conveyor belt and the upper belt serving to keep the fibres compressed, heating elements installed between the belts, and a series of injectors situated below the lower belt for injecting steam perpendicularly to the direction of displacement of the combed top.
