Abstract

The stand may be formed from a single length of tubing (356) which is coiled round to form a support foot at the bottom and with a freely shaped loop at the other end, with the painting (1) enclosed by the loop and attached to it by metal or plastic wires (2) maintaining the painting in tension. Alternatively the stand may be in three separate parts comprising a support foot, an upright tube and an upper loop, articulated to the latter. A flat surface (7), for supporting further objects may be provided on the upright tube, or the vertical section of the continuous tubing. The stand may also be used to replace a conventional artists' easel.
