Abstract

Packaging tray for prepared poultry, intended to prevent the bones damaging the shrink-on plastic wrapping film. The tray has an integral part roof section under which the legs of the poultry are packed. The roof section can be hinged on the edge of the tray to improve ease of packing. The tray may be perforated to reduce the weight of the package and is formed as one piece. One the poultry has been inserted the tray is covered with a plastic wrapping applied by a conventional machine.
