Abstract

The mechanism produces characters on the mosaic system, and has a sealed housing filled with ink under pressure, with a cover having a series of perforations each forming a marking point and mornally closed by the pointed end of spring loaded valve rod. The opening mechanism is controlled by the printing machine calculator. The rod springs can be of the leaf type, each also acting as a guide for its respective rod, which can be pulled open by a solenoid. The ink pressure can be maintained by a reservoir at an adjustable level above the housing. The axes of the perforations and the rods associated with them can be inclined in the direction of movement of the support to be marked.
