Abstract

A common defect of rear mirrors is that they vibrate and so distort the image. One method of avoiding this is to stick the mirror to the screen. The patent covers a base, stuck to the screen and the mirror itself is fitted to this base. This base is moulded in rigid, low cost material. There is also a thin film of material supporting this and the two are held by a sliding arrangement. The thin film is stuck to the screen and the base can slide transversely to vehicle motion. The base has a grooved hole into which a rod, fitted to the mirror, engages.
