Abstract

Vulcanising agent for heat-vulcanising unsatd. hydrocarbon polymers pref. contg. >=1 functional halogen gps., more pref. polychloroprene, has general formula Y = C-SS-C(=X)-NR (I) or Y = C-SS-C(XR) = N(I') (where Y is -S-, -NA- or N.CS.NA2, and A is alkyl or aryl; X is NH, NR1 or N.CS.NA2, where A is alkyl or aryl; X is NH, NR1 or N.CS.NA2 and R1 is alkyl or aryl and R is alkyl, aryl or H), pref. 5-(N-dimethyl)-amino- or 5-(N-trimethylsilyl)-amino-1,2,4-diethiazolidine-3-thione. 3,5-di-(dimethylthiocarbamoyl)-(N-phenyl)- and 3-(demethylcarbamoyl) -5-anil-(N-methyl)-1,2,4-dithiazolidine, or an adduct of 5-imino-1,2,4-diethiazolidine-3-thione with Ph isocyanate, monomeric or dimeric toluylene diisocyanate. (I) and (I') are used in 0.25-8 (0.5-4) esp. 0.6-1 wt% concn. (w.r.t. polymer).
