Abstract

A method of securing conductors to insulator discs in high voltage gas filled conduits avoids any increase of effective conductor dimension at the disc or a reduction in the breakdown voltage between conductor and outer tube. The method involves deforming the conductor to fit into an annular groove in the inside of the insulating disc. This deformation can be achieved by a simple tool, by a screw fastening or by various other methods.
