Abstract

At certain hours of the day, for a limited time, the audio visual signals obtained from a video cassette can be substituted for the TV transmissions as in 71/15871. A decoder cct. (J1J2) obtains each of several characteristic frequencies of a tone signal preceding the audio visual signals and the output signal from the decoder is passed to an integration stage and memory cct (H). Each of the decoded frequencies is treated in the same way and passed via the integration cct to a respective input of the memory cct. The output from the latter is supplied to a bistable switching cct (I) which controls the switching from TV reception to audio visual signal receptions when all the characteristic frequencies have been received. The cct. operates in the same manner to control switching back to the TV receptions.
